DefenceNT and local industry participate in defence and industry events, initiatives and trade shows to promote the development of the Northern Territory (NT) defence support industry.

    The categories for the awards are:

    • Chief Ministers Award for Excellence in Defence Industry
      Celebrate businesses making outstanding contributions to Defence capabilities in the Northern Territory.
    • Chief Ministers Award for Excellence in Defence Industry – Indigenous Business
      To recognise the outstanding contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to the Defence sector in the Northern Territory, emphasizing their unique strengths, cultural insights, and strategic engagements within the industry.
    • Chief Ministers Award for Excellence in Defence Industry – Small Business
      To recognize a small business for its exceptional contribution and support to the Defence sector in the Northern Territory, highlighting adaptability, innovation, and strategic engagement.

    Finalists will receive 2 tickets to attend the Australian Industry and Defence Network (AIDN) NT Awards and Gala Dinner where the awards will be presented by Chief Minister, the Hon Lia Finocchiaro.

  • Recognising and celebrating businesses and individuals within the Veteran Community who demonstrate exceptional contributions.

    The Veteran Community includes current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence force, and their partners.

    The categories for the awards are

    • NT Veteran Employer of the Year
      To honour a business that demonstrates exceptional commitment to employing veterans and or Defence and veteran partners within the Northern Territory.
    • NT Veteran Employee of the Year
      To recognise and celebrate a veteran who has significantly contributed to their organisation by applying their ADF skills innovatively and positively.
    • NT Veteran Community Member Owned Business of the Year
      To acknowledge a member of the veteran community (current serving, ex serving, or partner of current or ex serving) who has created or significantly developed a business which operates in the Northern Territory.

    Awards will be presented by the Minister for Veterans, the Hon Jinson Charls at the Australian Industry and Defence Network (AIDN) NT Awards and Gala Dinner on April 29th 2025.

    Finalists will receive 2 tickets to the AIDN NT Awards and Gala Dinner.
